Who’s behind Ariana Grande’s Scent Thank U, Next?
Ariana Grande says Thank U, Next not once but twice as she drops her new fragrance.
The singer is channeling the same energy into a new smell after releasing the blockbuster song of the same name earlier. It debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Further, the song went on to shatter the record for the most-watched music video on YouTube. Thus, witnessing the success of the song, it won’t be wrong if we expect a similar kind of buzz about her new fragrance.
However, don’t you ever wonder who’s behind this fragrance? Before we introduce you to the name of its creator, let’s learn a few things about Ariana’s brand new fragrance Thank U, Next.
Ariana Grande’s fragrance line
Ariana Grande already has 7 fragrances under her belt. Ari was her debut fragrance in 2015. It was an ultra-feminine and non-overpowering sweet smell in a pom-pom pink bottle. Ari Perfume did a great job and already sold for over $150 million within just two years after its launch.
After that, in 2018, Grande collaborated with perfumer Clement Gavarry to release Cloud. It was her second fragrance, which features lavender, pear, and a trace of coconut. Cloud even got the title of Fragrance of the Year: Women’s Popular by the Fragrance Foundation.
For her third fragrance, Frankie, she took a different approach to Ari perfume.
Ariana’s first six perfumes were Moonlight for Women, Sweet Like Candy, and Sweet Like Candy Limited Edition. In pink, white, black, and red, each of these bottles sported her distinctive pom on the side.
Thank U, Next: Ariana Grande trademarks
The multi-platinum artist has trademarked the phrase “Ariana Grande Thank U, Next” for a line of beauty goods. It includes perfumes, colognes, and body mist. Moreover, the brand is going to have bath gels, body scrubs, shower gels, body lotions, and body powders.
For her new fragrance, Ari released a special sequel video to her famous song “Thank U, Next.”
The scent was created in collaboration with Luxe. It represents the same concept as the song. It means moving on, looking up, and taking charge in a positive and self-affirming manner.
Thank U, Next, the Grammy Award-winning singer’s new perfume is available at Ulta stores nationwide. It’s a 100ml pink bottle emerging from a damaged and shattered heart. This, Grande says “represents moving forward from a difficult chapter.”
Moreover, Grande wanted to pay homage to her debut fragrance with her new scent. It is a delightful blend of wild raspberry and white pear. Additionally, they added the warmth of dry pink rose petals and crème de coconut to the aroma. It is an attempt to make it more “summery and tropical.”
Finally, it has undertones of soft velvet musk and macaron sugar.
Who’s the high-end perfumer behind the fragrance?
And his name is Jerome Epinette, the senior perfumer at Robertet Fragrances, The Fragrance Foundation. He is the one bringing her vision to life.
Epinette is a well-known perfumer worldwide. He has produced scents for Byredo, Atelier Cologne, Vilhelm, Frapin, Olfactive Studio, and many more.
Epinette has an excellent nose. It suggests that if he hadn’t been a perfumer, he would have made an excellent wine sommelier. He was born in the wine-producing region of Burgundy, France (Bourgogne).

You might have already worn and liked many of his designs. He is known for his love of excellent quality naturals. Moreover, perfume aficionados love how gracefully he blends them with the finest synthetics.
Other Stories (H&M’s luxury spin-off brand), Sonia Kashuk fragrances for Target, and vegan perfumes for Feeney were all projects Epinette worked on.
He created Floral Street vegan perfumes to make you happy. No doubt, he is extremely talented. He believes in focusing on the substances rather than playing with words in advertising.
Epinette says that consumers are more educated than ever. Thus, they read the ingredients and memorize names. So, now it matters more what you are presenting them, which should always be the best in quality.
How he creates scents
The fragrance guru from New York City is a master of simplicity. Additionally, he is one of today’s most varied perfumers.
The fragrance artisan develops aromas that complement the brand. He makes it go smoothly with the line on which he is working. He likes working in a clean, white office with a white wooden floor and very little else. His desk is dazzlingly white and spotless, and Epinette tries to keep it that way since he can only work that way. He couldn’t have a bunch of blotters strewn about and a swarm of items surrounding him. He says it would drive him insane. Moreover, Epinette uses mood boards, visual graphics, music, and poetry to convey the brand’s message.
Now that we know a lot about him, we know you’d be excited to see what Ariana Grande’s perfume smells like. Also, since the perfumer behind it is the same man behind Byredo’s premium perfumes, it’s normal to have very high expectations from it. Byredo’s perfumes are nearly three times as expensive as the ‘Thank U, Next’ Perfume. However, we believe Thank U, Next is one of its kind and you should be trying it at least once.
