Camila Mendes’s Beauty And Self-Care Secrets
Camila Mendes rose to prominence as a result of the successful TV show Riverdale. Urban Decay named her one of the Global Citizens along with singer Normani last year. Related to the beauty industry, Mendes believes in the value of diversity.
She isn’t scared to speak her mind about self-care. According to her, it’s not about appearance but health that she cares about. Outside of physical fitness, listening to her body and acting on it is an important part of her quest.
In one of her Instagram posts, she expressed that beauty comes in all sizes and colors. Thus, it’s vital to see that reflected in the beauty business. Mendes’ golden skin, sharp features, and signature heavy brows set her apart from others. Now, if you’re wondering how she maintains her magnifying beauty, continue reading. Learn about her skin-care and hair-care secrets, as well as her cosmetics routine. Moreover, learn how she’s staying sane in the face of the global pandemic.
Camila Mendes’s Skincare Routine
Mendes tells Vogue UK that her morning and nightly skincare regimes are “very consistent.” In the morning, she uses Renée Rouleau Skin Recovery Lotion for sensitive and acne-prone skin. But, she first cleanses and applies a light moisturizer to her skin. Moreover, she admits that she always showers before going to bed in the evening. Mendes uses the Renée Rouleau Rapid Response Detox Cleanse to wash her face. She then applies Sunday Riley eye cream and spritzes her face with Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist. Mendes utilizes upwards strokes or soft pats on her skin when applying cosmetics.
Camila’s top skincare hacks
She makes an effort to be aware of how she’s applying the product. Mendes tries to pat it in as much as possible, but it sometimes takes her a long time. Instead of pulling down on her skin, she then tries to push the substance upwards. That’s something ‘she’s picked up from facials: always apply the product in upward motions.
Camila Mendes Makeup Routine
Mendes told Vogue that she likes to keep her makeup minimal and streamlined. Urban Decay Hydromaniac Tinted Glow Hydrator, Ilia True Skin Serum Concealer, and Urban Decay Brow Blade in Café Kitty are her go-to daytime products. She also tells Glamour that she loves the Urban Decay Wild West Eyeshadow Palette. Also, the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencils are one of her favorites. She likes to play up her eyes more. Ilia Limitless Lash Mascara, her go-to everyday mascara, completes any eye appearance. Additionally, she uses Urban Decay Lash Freak Volumizing Mascara on nights out.
Camila Mendes on Hair Care
Mendes has experienced stress-related hair loss. She told Glamour that it caused her to have an anxiety attack. Thus, she uses Olapex products to keep her hair healthy. Mendes also uses their shampoo, but their Bond Smoother is incredible. One of her favorites is the No. 6 Bond Smoother. It is a leave-on preparation cream that minimizes frizz and moisturizes dry hair. It also tames Mendes’ thick and wavy hair, she says. That’s thick enough to get in there, but it doesn’t appear that there’s much product in your hair. According to her, everything feels smooth and hydrated, but there’s nothing heavy about it. It basically tames her waves, as she has naturally wavy hair.
Camila Mendes on Self Care
Mendes enjoys long showers with a face mask to unwind after a long day at the office. She even admits to having a bubble bath soundtrack along with that. Mendes enjoys bath bombs from Lush and moisturizes her skin with Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion. Also, massages are a favorite of hers, and she prefers them to facials. She also downloaded Forest, a self-care program that encourages users to reduce their screen time.
Forest is one of my favorite things. She uses it all the time when she feels that she’s been scrolling through Instagram for too long. Mendes admits that, like many others, she spends too much time on Instagram. Scrolling can sometimes paralyze you. So, she downloaded this app and it helps her manage her time. She now simply goes to the app and sets the timer whenever she starts to feel hooked to her phone. It holds you accountable for not looking at your phone; she’s going to do 20 minutes without looking at mine. It grows trees – every time you set a timer. And thus, one can see all the trees they’ve grown at the end of the month or week. It’s quite lovely – miniature self-care trees!
What Camila Learned From The Pandemic?
Facing the fear of being alone is one of the lessons she’s learned with Covid-19. Mendes confesses that being “really alone” was “very difficult” for her. However, the pandemic has made her realize how much she enjoys spending time alone. And now she longs for it in the midst of her hectic shooting schedule.
